Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu, is inviting applications from ambitious and results-driven engineering graduates for a sponsored Postgraduate Diploma Course in Metro Rail Technology and Management (PGDMRTM). This course will be conducted at the eminent Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras). A total of 18 seats are available across various engineering disciplines.

- Civil Engineering: 3 posts
- Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE): 5 posts
- Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE): 6 posts
- Mechanical Engineering: 4 posts
Reservations will be in accordance with the Government of India guidelines.
Age Limit
- The upper age limit is 28 years as of 09.06.2024.
- Relaxation of 3 years for OBC (NCL), 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
- Additional relaxation up to 10 years for Persons with Disabilities, subject to suitability and capability as per the role requirements.
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have a first-class degree in Civil, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university and must have secured a minimum aggregate average of 70% marks.
- A relaxation of 5% is available for SC/ST candidates.
- A valid GATE score is mandatory.
- Final year students who anticipate completing their degree before the start of the course may also apply.
Selection Process
- The selection process is provisionally based on valid GATE scores followed by an interview.
- Final selection is contingent upon medical fitness.
Stipend and Contract Period
- Selected candidates will be designated as Executive Trainees and will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 30,000 during the one-year course period.
- CMRL will cover the sponsorship and tuition fees for the PGDMRTM course at IIT Madras.
